5.4 issues
Can anyone tell me what years the cam phaser problems affected the 5.4's. Did ford correct the problem after a certain year? I'm looking for a used truck and most of the ones I have looked at have the cam phaser knock, the ones that don't I'm still scared of.
Is the spark plug issue only on certain years or is that all of the 5.4. Do the 4.6 have issuse with the spark plugs? I think the 4.6's did not have cam pahsers untill '08 or '09, is this correct?

All up to 09+. The cam phaser deal is not a huge factor. It makes a sound and thats usually about it. Theres trucks that have had that tick and lasted over 250k. How many miles are you looking at on a truck? Usually they have been replaced and its a one time deal, another way tp check is pulling the coil pack and boot off and if the plug has a white mark than its a factory plug and spend the 60 bucks for the tool to remove them if they brake
