I just picked up a 2009 F250 Superduty. After doing some driving around town I noticed how the ride is very rigid, its like I'm driving on basketballs. I get very quick stiff rebounds over bumps. I think the tires may have a bit too much air so I will be checking that in the am hoping that helps a bit. I'm just wondering if this is a normal trait of the superduty or if the tire pressure and or shocks may be the culprit. So I'm also asking for any suggestions on new shock types? The truck has only 35k miles on it. I will be do some towing but only a few times a year, otherwise I'm looking for a good road shock, focusing primarily on ride quality.
Rebates are always good. I will look those up today. Thanks! I'm not really comparing one to another just an observation really. Although my father has had 2500 and 3500 Chevys and I don't remember any issues with the ride quality, keeping in mind its still a HD truck and its not going to ride great. Thanks for the input!
No disrespect to the Rancho fans, but I was having ride issues on my 2011 F250 with camper prep (+1 coil springs, extra leaf, and stab bar) and after only 17k miles the Ranchos were shot. I have had good experiences with Bilsteins, so that's what I put on. Going from an F150 to a 250 surprised me with how harsh a ride these trucks give. Ymmv.

Rancho 9000? Or 5000s, or 7000? Bilsteins are great shocks just don't give the adjustability or softer ride. The factory "Ranchos" aren't even real ones, just rebadged stock types.

I did not know that. They were the stock shocks that were bad.
I just installed new shocks on my truck, after talking to a few shock houses I was told that Rancho's were made by Monroe and the Monroe Reflex was the same shock as Rancho's, except the 9000 they are adjustable. So you can save some money by just buying the Monroe's.
Also one trick the 9000 guys are doing is starting out setting the shocks at 3, then after 10000 miles increase to 6 and then to 9 so as the shock wears out it keeps the same ride.
