I understand this thread is about 7 months old but it is Injector related and seeing as we wanted to keep all of the questions here I figured I would give it a whirl,
Does anybody know the angle at which the fuel enters the combustion chamber on both the 6.9's and 7.3's if there is any difference
Thanks!!
I don't have any documentation on it, maybe somebody else does, but Itd wager it was between a 2* and 4* angle based on all the sticks ive tested. That being said, as soon a the injector gets any nozzle wear, all that's out the window.
Realistcally, the spray angle isn't a big deal, there are so many other variables that can effect things to a much greater extent. (I know that wasn't what you were asking, but I thought id throw it in)...
I understand and thank you for the input you would have a lot better guess than I would, the reason I asked is I was just doing some thinking and hearing about how others are timing their injection pumps to how they prefer their engines to run and wondered- at what point (if there even is any) would you no longer be hitting the "hot" side of the pre-cup and actually be missing it and hitting outside of the Mickey Mouse Ears altogether due to the angle at which the fuel is entering at?
