I'm beat!
Man that's a boat load of work, and deserves reps in my book. Congrats on getting it together by yourself. Rest up, then pic, pic, pics.

Hey Jeremy,
You are from Texas - You've got to have a cattle prod laying around there somewhere. I've found those are very useful for getting teenage boys out of bed.....
Good job on the trans.!

It's like wrestling a 145+ pound alligator whose nose flops around a tenth of an inch or so and stuffing his nose into a hole that is just ~.002" bigger than said snout.
I had used the proper pilot tool to align things but, in the end, it was bumping the starter that let the pilot bearing meet the input shaft.
Some gratuitous pictures and then off to bed. I'll do up a series of posts on the whole process soon. I have to re-size over 100 photos before I can get them to fit on the site and then I'll do a write-up as I post them. For now:
The block outside - it was living life wedged into the standing-room-only garage:

The block in the decidedly more roomy engine bay. For now, it's living as a 2-barrel. Soon, the Mummert intake and Holley 1848 carb will go on - once I get the linkage figured out (changes side, no hand throttle, etc..)

The heavy engine's heavy friend:

Another view - See the parking brake bracket? I made that to allow the use of the (Jeep) T18 cover that has a reverse light switch:

I am doing a bit of a resto-mod on Albatross. I will do modifications in the interest of safety, such as no widow makers , seat belts, good door latches, and a reverse light switch. I will also keep it Y-block, but, it ain't exactly the old ~130 HP farm truck that it used to be!
I'm off to bed. I still feel like

Hope you're feeling better today. I don't know about you but, I'm finding out that things have been getting heavier.
I see you put a T-18 cover on the T-98. Now I'm kicking myself for giving away the T-18 I had.
