1981 Bronco 302 Headers
OK... we are going to replace the 302 engine with one from Jasper.
What are your recommendations about putting headers on it? Is it worth it? What are the pros and cons of the idea?
Are there any that will mate with the existing exhaust or will we have to fabricate a new connection?
I have also heard that the ones we install will probably not last long because the metal is very thin!

There are numerous threads here about headers and also in the exhaust system forum. Bassani, Gibson, JBA, are just a few of the names that have been mentioned. If you buy a set of "shorty" headers, they should bolt right up to the stock exhaust with no problems. If you spend the money and get a good set of headers, they should last a long, long time.

OK... I'll check it out and do more research... shorty headers, I think, are what I would like because of it 'should' be an easier install while the engine is out of it.

We got a set from Summit, but they turned out not to be shorty headers and they touch the automatic transmission!!!
Any ideas as to who has shorties for a 1981 302 automatic on the column ???
The engine has been swapped!
