Stuck Parking brake
Here's the story..I got called out to move my truck so someone else could squeeze their vehicle in, so I head out, hop in and attempt to release the parking brake. It felt like it didn't want to release, so I fiddle with it a bit (wiggling back and forth) and the f&#^$*#^ing handle pulls right out of the dash like it would in the movies. Parking brake is still engaged.
I'm wondering if anyone has an exploded diagram of the parking brake assembly or any tips on what I did and how I fix it.
Thanks again
You might be able to crawl under the tuck and check where the 2 cables come together from the rear.....the lever thingy they hook to might be stuck.
If the cables themselves are stuck, you may be able to put a vice grip on the exposed part and force it back. If not, you need new cables...

If the parking brake lever pulled out of its housing, I doubt it has anything to do with parts underneath the truck.
Parking brake lever (2790) has serrations, when you pull the handle out, the parking brake lever pawl (2786) drops into one of the serrations, locking it in place.
When you release the parking brake...by turning the handle slightly, curly-Q spring (2788) releases the pawl.
Any/all of these parts may have broken. Notice that the front parking brake cable (2853) is retained by a clip (2814).
Notice knurled pin (2859), I don't recall what its function is.
1) prevents the parking brake lever from rotating too far.
2) prevents the lever from being pulled too far when engaging the parking brake (if you get to the pin you definitely need to adjust things)
Yesterday the weather decided to blanket NY in snow again, so it will be a couple days until I can get out and investigate this issue further, but I am 99% sure it is in the pull mechanism itself.
Again, thanks for the info to everybody
