I would like to know who has some time tested results with protecting the under side of their truck with paint or bed liners. i used POR on my frame(which lived in Nebraska all of its life) but the body i picked up in Texas while i was stationed there and doesn't have much at all for rust on it and as i understand the POR needs surface rust to cling to.

Well, not the whole underside yet. I put new floor pans in last summer and sprayed the bottoms of them with rubberized undercoating. One very snowy Illinois winter (which means tons of salt on the road) later and they look good still. No pictures right now though, sorry. The floor pans were fresh metal and took the undercoating great. Good luck

 

I have used red Rustoleum primer and SG or satin black Rustleum as finish coat with good results. Thorough cleaning/de-greasing is key with anything you use.

The red primer will hold on to and protect rusted surfaces plus its a good general purpose primer on non rusted surfaces.

 

I too am very curious, as Im about to paint the under side of my bed and cab but not sure what to use. I've already painted the frame with KBS seal.
