2004 V10 hard start when warm

Hello all, I'm new to the forum because I got a new to me 2004 4x4 Excursion v10. 98,000 miles and I am out of ideas as to why it is hard to start when the engine is warm. I originally posted the the V10 forum and I tried to do a forum search but could not find the same issue, both with no luck. Starts right up when cold, engine not ambient air temp, idles great once started. In park idles at 1,000 until normal op temp is reach, then down to 750ish. In gear idles right at 650. Drives great. Plenty of power, does not surge, averaging 13.7 mpg over two tanks (70% hwy, 30% city) and no codes. Since it is new to me, and I don't trust people to do maintenance I have:
Replaced spark plugs
Replace downstream o2 sensor (the two upstream were not in stock)
Replaced fuel filter
Replaced belt
Replaced crank sensor (because the belt was already off)
Changed oil (mobile 1 5w20) and filter.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What do you mean by "hard to start". Does it crank but the engine will not fire?

Maybe a computer problem. Maybe an air leak. Maybe a bad fuel pump. Did you change the boots?

It' s funny how you get almost 14 mpg and Russ in here gets 8 mpg.

Check your fuel pressure at the Schrader valve on the fuel rail during a cold start and a hot start with a fuel pressure gauge.

I've hit over 14 mpg before Brent, did you notice his highway/city percentage? With my daily driving i'm almost exactly opposite with about 80% city and 20% highway and that will make a huge difference in milage...if i'm all highway i stay in the low teens also.

Hard to start issues make me think of low fuel pressure? Have you checked it?

How many miles on it? Have you ever replaced the fuel pump? I would probably replace mine if it had a ton of miles.

fuel pump. Check the fuel pressure. Loan a tool from your carparts store and check the pressures when cold and when warm. Running as well as key on engine off.

Long shot but I would clean the mass air sensor. I've seen stranger issues as a result of a dirty MAF.

Hey guys, thanks for the input. Here is the update. Narrowed the pressure tester from autozone. Got it home and discovered the Ford fitting for the gauge came pre-stripped. Since the round trip was going to take me to almost empty decided to play the odds and changed the fuel pump discovering two things.
1) it had been changed before (AC Delco)
2) they put the assembly in backward. Not that that would matter for my problem, but I'm glad it is now retained like it should be.

Results: It helped, will consistently fire after cracking (normal crack speed) for about five seconds. I did notice that every time I let the system charge 8-10 seconds before cranking I hear air purge from the system. Is this normal on the v10?. I'm thinking maybe the pressure regulator is letting fuel drain back to the tank. Will clean the maf and iac Friday and let you all know what happens.

Another issue "could" be an intake leak. Heat could expand whatever's leaking causing issues during a hot start? Dunno, just thinking out loud. Some folks have reported having intake leaks on the V10's.

It should start right up but that is if all is in tune etc. Did you change the boots?

What caused you to change o2 sensor? Did you have codes?

Verify spark? What's that? You should have changed the boots if you changed the plugs. It could be all you need for quicker starting. I wouldn't do anything else until you change them.
