I bought ais a month ago and got a decent day to install it. I seem to have lost the instructions though. Looks easy enough but if anyone could please scan and post I would appreciate it.
Also I developed an oil leak this winter on my ex. It's my first winter w it so maybe it just surfaced for me. Looks like it could be the oil pan? Any suggestions thanks.
Will look for instructions, but basically, you have to remove the old air intake system which includes removing the battery and battery box. It will be obvious how to install the rest. Didn't your AIS come with instructions? It may be INSIDE the box under the filter.
Before jumping to conclusions about the oil pan, crawl under and take a decent look around the drivers side under the exhaust manifold. Particularly the cylindrical tube that couples to the oil filter base. That's your oil cooler, and they're prone to leaks at this age in cold temps. The large O-rings and gaskets become dry and brittle and cause leaks that will sometimes go away as the engine warms to operating temperature.
Resealing the cooler is straightforward and easy enough for any moderately mechanically inclined individual.

Ditto. Here's a GREAT video on replacing oil cooler. Although, I would suggest removing and replacing the front gasket as well (this video does not have you doing that). I found it not as "easy" as this video showed, but then again, I never seem to be able to do ANYTHING on these trucks as easy as they seem. The video sort of skips over replacing the rear "adapter" to the tube...I had to jury-rig the reinstallation by using a set of ratchet straps to somewhat press the adapter onto tube. And simply using a pry bar to install the tube into the mounted front adapter took me HOURS, but maybe my setup was difficult, i don't know. That being said, I had never done an oil cooler, and had no help, but got it done. It is "simple" but not necessarily "easy." YMMV.
