Well pulled the old sticks and dropped in new ones from rosewood. The truck runs great, idles better, quicker throttle, almost like a different truck. Going to send out my chip to get reburned this week. Then maybe if i have time drop the intercooler in.
Just curious, but what kind of turbo would be a good compliment to the injectors that were just installed? I am more on the 6.0 forums, but I know lee personally and we are both learning a lot together. Has anyone ever put a VGT on their 7.3 and would you guys recommend it?
Im starting to look more into turbos. I hear alot of guys run stage2s with like d66s or 38rs what are basically the differences in them? and when im searching the web the different housings and mounting kits what's all different with them?
Ive seen alot that guys like the irate diesel t4 mount system. Is there any bigger turbos that use the stock mount?

D66 and equivalent. I sell turbos from Barder Turbo, great guy and product and costs about the same as the D66. These turbos are heavily modified stock turbos to have a larger wheel (66 mm), along with other mods internally to allow them to flow more air than stock. they drop right in place and require nothing else to install and run.
You can go with a 38R but it will be nearly double the cost when you are all done getting the mount, up-pipes, intake, down pipe etc.
Same goes for the T4 mount, the turbo itself is very affordable, add in the cost of the mount, ducting/plumbing, etc and the cost adds up quick.
The biggest difference between them is the T4 mount is VERY flexible and easy to upgrade the turbo later. If you ever want to go larger than the D66 or 38R, then you would sell that turbo and go with a T4 mount.
All really depends on what you want to do now and in the future.
38r is a good turbo but its not able to be rebuilt.
In order to go past 400hp with a d66 you have to externally waste gate it and then you have to get the tuning almost perfect for the turbo to live a happy life.
You'll have 2k into a 38r, 1500 into a d66 or 2200 into a t4 with a s366
I won't get into a pissing match about with turbo is better but for the money I'd go T4.
With a T4 your turbo options are endless.

And for $2200 with the 366, you get bellowed up pipes and inter cooler pipes for your setup. That would be additional money with the 38r and D66. If you are adding an intercooler and/or fixing up pipe leaks while upgrading turbos, the T4/366 setup becomes more reasonable.

I think thats the next step. well next thing to save for. I like the idea of being able to switch turbos up down the road.
