I was wondering the difference between a 4x4 and a 2x4 transmission. I have a 86 aod and it looks like i can just take the tailshaft off and bolt it up to my transfercase? I'm replacing a C6
Someone said it would work but the overall length would be different so i'd have to move my x-member and extend-shorten the driveshafts. is this correct?
also. I was wondering if anyone has ever fixed a cracked bellhousing on a c6 by making a 1/4" plate steel adapter plate and having it go right around the bell housing? (sounds too mad scientist?)
The output Shafts in the Rear of a 2wd Tranny is longer then that of a 4wd tranny. as for the X member I'm not sure about. If you know someone who has a Bad AOD from a 4x4 there willing to let you have. Most tranny shops will Swap the shafts for about $130.
