87 Bronco temp fluctuating

87 Bronco temp fluctuating
I had this problem last year and still cannot figure it out. My 87 Bronco XLT 5.0 AOD runs at around 180-190 but randomly when i am driving or i accelerate it will jump up to 200-205. I have mechanical guages. Last year i replaced the water pump, t-stat, radiator, all of the hoses. I was thinking a blown head gasket but no water in oil or oil and water. Any help?

Well it sounds like you may have air in the system from when all that work was done. I would first check to make sure the coolant system is filled fully first. I know my system would sometimes jump around like that because it ended up there was some air in the system. It can take some time to get it all out.
Otherwise, if there is no air in the system, potentially your fan clutch is going out. However I believe that would demonstrate more persistent symptoms.
