I'm picking up the '99 F-250 SuperDuty this afternoon/tonight.
The owner of the truck says that he changes the oil every 5,000 miles.
I know the oil that he uses, and the filters. (Rotella-T 15w-40 and Motorcraft filter.)
The question is.....
For a 15 qt oil change, what do YOU use to catch the drained oil????
All I've ever changed has been gasoline engines, with 5 quarts being the typical change.
I don't think my 'little' 8 quart drainpan is gonna be big enough!

5 gallon bucket should do the trick if you can fit it under.
I bought a large drain pan at Walmart, it's an 18 or 15 qt I can't remember but my 7.3 excursion took 15 qts well technically 14.5 with filter but I never had any issues with the pan.
If you know any dairy farmers you could prob get 15 gal drums from them iodine and stuff Usually comes in them . I took one of those and cut it in half. It holds everything good
I use buckets like these. They hold 4 gallons. We buy cat litter or birdseed that comes in this type of container. The lids vary, but the buckets are all the same size and they easily fit under the truck. Best part is that I drop off the whole thing at the collection point. I don't need the bucket back, so no waiting and no cleaning.
Make sure you get a Fumoto installed, and you'll experience the easiest, least messy, oil changes ever.
Then either a large bucket, or if it's really windy a hose direct into regular 4-5 quart oil jugs. Plus it's nice to be able to pull samples of oil out.
