Hi guys, new 6.4 owner, not new to the site ( previous truck was a 6.0 Excursion ). I recently picked up a 2008 F-350 crew cab, King Ranch with 73k miles on it. I had been doing a lot of research and reading. I love the 6.7 but it was out of my price range. I wanted a newer truck, and another diesel, so I decided on the 6.4. I bought this via a Ford dealer and was able to get a 60 month Ford ESP premium care. They actually matched the best ESP price I could fine online. Still a lot of money, but compared to what my out of pocket costs would be if something major failed, I figured it was a wise move.
My first impressions are the truck drives so much nicer then my Excursion. The suspension seems much improved. Power feels great, lots of low end torque. MPG seems not so good, but I knew that going in. So far I love the truck!
I put new tires on it ( Bridgestone Duellers ), alignment, running boards and vent visors.
I have been reading a lot about DPF delete and a tuner. But I do not want to do anything that would void my warranty. Will a tuner with the DPF still working improve MPG and HP?
Congrats on the new truck. looks great! You can run a dpf on tuner, senix (another member) ran Banks and i think he gained a little from it. The fuel mileage isnt the best but other than that i have no complaints on mine. Most guys on here do the dpf delete but i havent personally yet. Make sure you follow the severe maintenance schedule and check your fluids often. Goodluck
Nice ride! Your going to lover the power and the fuel station ...lol....so get yourself a points card. ( I think my fuel actually payed for my Xmas trip....lol)
