Seized spark plug

Seized spark plug

So, I'm basically at my wits end here with this spark plug. All other plugs came out and got new ones back in. Got a new cap and rotor and wires on. Everything is hooked up. Now, the only thing holding me up on this tune up is stinking cylinder 1 plug. I broke the insulator off. Oops. The hex nut and base of the plug is still in there though. I've used a lot of PB blaster. I've used a 3/8 12" long ratchet with just a 3" extension, now I've resorted to about a 1/2" drive breaker bar that's about 15" long. It's not budging. So not budging. Any advice?

Hi Haleyrz, Which engine? With a Cap, rotor, & wires sound like on older model with the cast iron head. Aluminum head all bets are off! With a cast iron head, Can you reach the plug with a propane torch, with out destroying every thing around the plug? An Oxy/acetylene torch can become too hot, unless you really know how to use one. Try different methods, heat the plug and let it cool, try to remove it. Then heat the plug and try to remove it hot. Careful not to burn yourself. Then heat the plug and cool it with your PB Blaster. Again fire and burn danger. Other may have a better Idea! Good Luck Kenny P.S. Aluminum head you will need a plug thread insert and the tooling kit to install it.

Hey Keny, thanks for the tip! Yeah it the 5.8L. I let it soak for about another hour after I posted. I was considering the torch like you said, but had my roommate give it a try when he got home. I dunno if it was the extra soaking or the extra gusto, but be got it . All 7 plugs were autolite coppers and that #1 was an NGK. Ha. I hate finding miss matches plugs. I used a high temp anti-seize on all new motorcraft platinum plugs. So next time around will be way easier lol.
