I got a set of front and rear emblems (plus the 6.7L door emblems) painted in tuxedo black to match my truck. Hoping that the paint job will stunt the delamination issue entirely.

Since there was no way in the world I was letting anyone near my paint (did body repair for years), I removed the rear emblem myself.
Started with a 10lb test braided fishing line using a sawing motion and kept snapping it. Went to the 30lb kevlar fishing line and tried again. This time, it did the job.
I discovered the reason the normally used 10lb line kept snapping is that the Ford emblem is actually held on not only with an adhesive backed tape, but it also has 3 push tabs with holes in the tailgate for securing them. The 30lb kevlar was able to saw through the plastic tabs with no problem.
The holes make it pretty much dummy proof to get the emblem on straight.
Now knowing how it attaches makes me even more glad I did the removal myself as I can just picture some prep kid trying to pry the emblem off and destroying my paint and/or denting the metal in the process.
Dang and I thought mine was the only one with a screwed up emblem (and just as crappy looking as the '06 was getting). Evidently when the original owner screwed the grill up with a Bambi strike, the emblem was just transferred.
On a new truck that is B.S. I agree you would think the company logo would be better represented. My 05 has the blue flat gone all chrome I kinda like it that way.
I just installed the black Carriage Works billet grill and thought the black Ford logos would look better as I have a Tuxedo Black King Ranch so last night I ordered front and rear DefenderWorx 98418 off of Amazon.
