Not as much sediment as i was expecting. Looks like either your last flush was really good or its all in your ear and oil cooler. Hopefully it was flushed.

in my ear?? lol dont think i ran coolant through my ear... lol
theres been people that have said they had several flushes and still ended up with clogged filters... i was more surprised with how nasty the coolant itself looked.. for being 500 miles old it shouldnt be that dark... there was alot floating around inside that coolant too when i drained it into the bottles there.. once it settles i plan to try to take pics of the bottles again..
i did flush it before i installed the filter so will see how it goes in another 1000 miles... kind of curious to see how that will look... heaters not getting as hot as it was before i changed the coolant..
unless sediment clogged your heater core which is very unlikely I bet it's taking longer because it's working more efficiently.
as long to heat up?? nahh its running about the same as far as thats concerned... before i changed the coolant though i had to have the temp dial at minimum 1/4 off from full cold to get anything resembling cool air.. and full 50% mix was still 1/4 turn away... now i can have it on 50% and still be comfortable... full hot still blows nice and warm when i need it... i was thinking before it was the mix door.. but now i think it was the coolant and something in the heater core maybe... truck itself seems to be running cooler too even though all i have is the dash gauge...

Printed off my banjo plans this morning. Found a guy on Craigslist with a bunch of hardwood on the cheap. All the wood, planed on two sides to the thicknesses I need, is gonna be less than $40!
Decided on black walnut for the neck and rim, and osage orange for the fretboard and rim band. The two should look really great along with a white groundhog head.

So it sounds like it is running much better. I think many folks do it every 50-60k because the coolant is so sensitive in the diesels.

i try to do it every 2 years just to keep it clean... but it took me a year just to get to it for the 350... stang i havent done since 06.. but thats only cuz she hasnt really been driven much... shes got just under 47K on her... for being 10 yrs old that aint bad...
nope sure doesnt... but usually only drive her in the summers or if im going on a long trip by myself.. 32mpg a lot nicer on a trip than 22 & higher fuel price lol... main reason shes a summer pony.. summer performance tires on her.. winter she gets a little slick on the cold asphalt.. but shell plow through deep puddles like theyre not even there..
shes got a peppy 3.9L v6.. 04 was the only yr to have that one.. 03 and earlier had the 3.8L.. and 05 had the 4.0.. and ironically when i checked her out on KBB shes holding her value a lot better than the 03/04 terminator cobras are lol.. theyve lost 1/2 their value from what they were new where ive barely lost 1/4 of what i paid for her new lol
