1892 F250 Speedometer Problem
I have a 1982 F250 with a 6" lift and 35" tires on it. After installation of the tires the speedometer reads incorrect. Does anyone know what I have to do to get the speedometer to read accurately for the truck with these tires on it?

change speedo gear first pull old one out count the number of teeth on gear.I believe you want to get a gear with more teeth .another thing you can do is have someone follow you with another vehicle with a known accurate speedometer and at lets say when you are going 50 mph have them tell you how fast they are going and if your off 10 mph just learn to drive 10 less than what your speedo is reading.By your tire size I'd say your off by at least 10 mph

Title had me confused. Didn't even know speedometers existed back in 1892.........
Changing the speedo drive gear is simple, takes ~ 5 minutes. It's located in the back of the transfer case (or transmission on 2wd), where the cable hooks up.
