I have a 71 F100 4x4 I am putting a 460 in it.I want to put an AOD auto trans . in it if possible. Did Ford make an AOD to mate to a 460?If so what year s.Thanks. I wopuld stick with a c-6 but 4.56 gears and freeway use are tough.

Ford only made the AOD with a smallblock bellhousing but there is a aftermarket adapter available. There is a tech article how to swap a AOD into a 78/79 Bronco with 351m/400 which should be pretty close to your swap.
