He probably burned about 10-20 acres if not more. I think the supervisor of the forestry department told him what the bill would most likely be, and they planned on invoicing him. But I'm not sure. Basically, he was forced to pay the workers' hourly wages to fight the fire.
That's just that much brush you don't have to cut!!! Many years ago, one time when we came home from church one Sunday, we saw a bunch of smoke towards the back of our farm. I got on my bicycle and rode back to find that two of our hay fields were burning as well as my neighbors. I rode back and Dad called the fire dept. There was no way we could have put it out. The cause was my neighbor had an electric fence put up on the property line. It was one of those brush burning fences that broke probably from a deer running into it the night before. Funny thing, after the fire was out, the wire was still sparking while on the ground. The grass always comes back much better after a fire!
Worked at the Mid-American Trucking Show Saturday. I haven't been able to go there and spend time walking around and checking out all the new stuff. There is one thing that goes on there that really bothers me, and that is the amount of foreigners that come there and take photos. There was a guy there that our company owner knows that has a huge wholesale business selling counterfeit parts to manufacturers. He gets companies from overseas to copy this stuff. Not to get political here, but is there any wonder why quality suffers? Why America has lost jobs? I know, not a topic for this thread, but you see this stuff go on at trade shows all the time. A couple years ago, we got in a heated argument with one of these foreigners trying to take photos of our booth. Copyright and patent laws mean nothing to these people.

Put this picture in front of every single product you take to the show.
It's time to get excited guys. This tournament is getting serious, and Kentucky has a legitimate shot at #9. I've been having a fun run of smack talking with the guys on the 48-56 forum over Kentucky basketball. This thread was started immediately after Florida beat us in the SEC tournament final.
Now to make a device to turn the womans' nagging into v8 revving sounds.......
On another note, I am sincerely happy to see a couple more people chiming in on the B.S threads. Was getting kinda worried that we'd lose the 3 main contributors..lol
I was one of those guys that 4 weeks ago thought UK might not even make the tournament! They really stepped up their play. Congrats to them! They had a real tough bracket to get through to get to the Final Four. Charles Barkley said he thought the NCAA stacked it against Wichita State on purpose. They are also a great team.
