There are no wins until the end of the week. The score you see during the week shows how many of the 12 categories each player is leading in.
Each category (hits, home runs, walks, strikeouts, era, etc...) is a game. At the end of the week all the stats accumulated during the week in each category are added up and whoever has the most (or least, in the case of errors, ERA and WHIP) wins that category, or "game".

I clicked on the "Scoring & Settings" link but there was no explanation like you just provided. Not only does that make sense, but now I understand why the scores for people resemble a win-loss-tie format.
Understanding better how points are earned, helps us to better evaluate who to choose.
Are there any categories that count against the points we accrue? Like error on batters or walks for pitchers?
