Front end questions / problems / repairs
So I have an 04 350 DRW crew cab (Yep the one in the picture).
Knew I had some front end stuff to take care of. So in the past month, I have had the following done:
Passengers side wheel bearing
Drivers Side wheel bearing
Passengers side hub
double Cardan joint rebuilt
Front brakes
Front rotors
Drivers side ball joints
Passengers side ball joints
Of course tires and an alignment.
So after all of this work, my left drive shaft seems to be giving me grief in disconnecting after being in 4x4 and on the highway, I get a growling noise that is exasperated by bumps. I know I need new shocks, although they are not completely gone yet. but the noise is ever present and louder when there is additional weight on the front end.
If anyone has any suggestions, I would LOVE to hear it. This is starting to get VERY expensive.
Thanks
Glenn
I am actually starting to wonder if one or both of the axle stubs are bent. Technically in 2wd the axle universals should not be spinning??
Unless I am wrong.
Might try climbing underneath and turning the front drive line by hand. You may be able to see if the axle is bent or if it is hanging up on something......
