Ok so today I went out and was tracking down all my vacuum lines on my 88 F150 C6. I found about 5-6 of them broken which is more or less all. (Now I know why my trans wouldn't shift into 3rd the day the engine let go).
So since I have to rebuild an engine and drop it in I figure more then likely more vacuum lines will get broken so I should just replace them. I looked at o'rielly and autozone and cannot find vacuum lines at all. Can I run hoses that are less likey to break that are small enough (I found Vacuum hoses they are like washer fluid lines just smaller)? If not where can I get the vacuum lines?
With my C6 and all the dirt in my area do y'all think that maybe with the broken vacuum lines the modulator may go bad? Should I replace that too?
(All I could find on my C6 not shifting into 3rd is either a bad modulator or broken vacuum line since it shift the other gears fine.)

I just completed doing this to my truck last weekend. All the lines were brittle and suspect, so I bought bulk rubber vacuum line and replaced everything. With a little work and some zip-ties, everything is nice and tidy. Well worth the very few bucks...
WOW 1100 rpms! My 88 had these broken while it was running sounded still at about 800-900 but then again I couldn't tell because of the fact I don't have a tach yet.
