acceptable voltage drop for cables?
Two new Die Hard golds borrowed from my 85.. now just to rule out batteries , I can use them in the 85 and she turns over really fast like it should..
I have tried a second used starter and it is cranking a little faster. I am still not convinced it's fast enough. I finally tried a voltage drop test between the positive clamp pass side and the starter solenoid post..cold start yielded an average .25 v drop across this section. I still have to try between batteries and the grounds. Also going to compare against the good cranking 85 to get some real world numbers..
So here is the question .. What is acceptable? I have read around here I think that 0.1 is the limit. . I have seen SAE charts online that claim 0.2 but less in high current application. .I think the idi fits.. and I have read as high as 0.5v..
Thanks
