so after all that oil cooler work and stuff this weekend I woke up to a no start this morning...
It started up and ran but was surging this morning and then stalled and restarted with a long crank and now it won't turn back over. I noticed on that last start that I didn't hear my injectors clicking... I am leaning towards FICM or maybe since I just did all that work maybe a loose FICM connector? I did take the harness that connects the injectors to the FICM loose when I was putting in the oil cooler.
oil temp when I didn't hear the injectors was about 80 degrees.
Check the connections on the ficm, put a charger on the batteries and keep cranking. See what happens. Sometimes it takes alot of cranking to fire it off. Dont burn the starter up. Give it a 30 sec rest in between cranks
Well forget about all the cranking then. Wont help. You have any readings? Blowing a ipr is not unusual when this kind of work is done. Can you get ipr.icp.readings?
Typical ICP sensor failure indicators. Runs great one day and won't start the next.
Check to see if you have the ICP code p2285.
Had a similar issue 3 weeks ago. Started then quit. Started and ran like there were only 4 cylinders firing. Quit and would not start again. Popped p2285 code. Replaced ICP and all is well again.
Still a good idea to check FICM connectors. When I installed mine I put a small amount of dielectric grease across the face of the female (wire harness) connectors. Helps to Keep moisture out and with seating connectors into the FICM.
