This is a 2005 with 175K on it. The only thing that was on the report was EGR replace in 2008 and coolant flush in 2009--that's pretty much it. The pick is from January this year (it was in the teens or low 20s when taken. Notice the white smoke?
Cant really tell about the smoke/steam. Diesels will have emission just as any other vehicle. See it more when its cold. Get a scangauge and measure eot and ect.
tks--that is the plan--also what is the difference in the 250 and 350 say both being SRW?
Is it just the springs and maybe tranny? They also have an 06 F350 that I'm going to look at as well.
Ok so I just test drove the 2006 F350. One owner 137K miles. The only issue I have up front is it doesn't have a bed. Price is RIGHT 11K. So only one owner and the OASIS only have 2 things--a reprogram in 07 and FICM replaced in 2010 due to cold start issue. Engine bay was not cleaned at all and had zero degas puke, had a bit of oil on the drivers side at the bottom of the block and on trans housing (is this a big concern) On the deltas on Cooling the highest I saw was 3 degrees? Not sure I had this set up correctly. The highest the temps got were 185. All in all this one looks promising--all power all leather--pretty darn nice--just needs a bed. Oh--also the degas bottle was clear as a bell inside and has fresh oil. Cautiously optimistic

Do you know if it is a Long or short box? Used take off boxes am be had around 1200-1400 around here but only come in white. Our ford parts driver quoted us a short box with tailgate for under 1700. He said they were selling them pretty reasonable due to the fact they are not current production parts. I don't know if the tousley the guys talk about on here sell body parts but might be worth a call to then or a local dealer or body shop. Paint would cost you a decent amount on top of that. Also make sure it did at one time have a bed as the cab chassis models are different and a bed does not just bolt on.
Looks like this one came as IV (incomplete) so it came without a bed and the one the original owner had was custom. Paint will run 1500 but finding the bed around looks to be hard--and will be about 2000. but if I can use all of this to drop the price--oh man what a steal (at least would appear to be)

Check with Investor Car Shops in Little Rock, Ar. for a take off bed. They typically have or have access to several and Scott is a very fair man to deal with.
cool deal-tks will look into that--I did think of another option as my current F250 won't bring much for sale or trade I could have the bed taken off of it and have it painted for 1500 buck and be good to go. Possibly work that into the purchase over since I would be basically junking my old truck to partially fix the one I'm purchasing--stranger things have happened
Here's the truck-just by chance I called the guy (looking for a bed) that took the dog box off of this one--he said no bed will fit it as it wasn't built for one--still checking around for something to fix this because this is a good deal
it should have the same frame as any other superduty, but it looks like you would need a new fuel tank as well.
I agree unless they cut the ends of the frame rail for the dog box but I don't know why they would do that. It should be easy to compare. Not sure why he'd need a new fuel tank? Looks like the fuel neck is there.
