I need a mechanic/dentside guru who can diagnose and repair the multitude of issues with my truck. Had the tranny allegedly rebuilt*, new fuel pump, radiator, valve covers, oil pan gasket, freeze plugs, brake booster, master cylinder, new brake drums and discs, etc etc and still won't run down the freaking road. I'm in the triad NC area Winston-Salem high point Greensboro and will happily tow it to any location where someone who is well versed can guide me better to where I need to dump my money.
Have you thought about asking questions here? Lots of brilliant "dentside gurus" right here.
Have you done any troubleshooting yourself? Such as, will she idle smooth, rough, not at all? What does she do such that she "still won't run down the freaking road?" I'm presupposing she runs, will move while in gear, but something is causing a stall, sputter, death on the road, etc?
But first, what year vehicle/motor/trans, are we talking about?
And, specifically, (without writing a book) does she do to not "run down the road?"
I'm sure if you post up the actual problems the kind folks on this forum will help you sort them out. I had clutch issues with mine when I bought it and they told me exactly what to do. Will the truck run at all or will it not crank. I'm in siler city nc, and while no mechanic or guru I can lend a helping hand as long as I'm available. I would assume your truck has a carb, has anyone looked at it or your timing.
We as a group are good at figuring out what might be wrong and how to fit it. But we need a little more information.
I'd guess 73-79 auto xmsn, "and still won't run down the freaking road" means it will it crank, run, and ......what no shift?
Are you a NC FTE chapter member? Can probably get some instate assistance, like dman24 is offering. Hit up your chapter before you dump money at a shop.
