1983 Bronco project help!!
I recently acquired an 83 Bronco project. It's got a 351W. It doesn't run because it's been sitting for the last 10 years. When I got it, the fuel tank was off and empty and the carburetor, which is a Holley 2 barrel, was in pieces. The engine turns over, but here's my question. I live in CA, and we have smog to deal with! Would I be able to put on it the Edelbrock Performer intake and a Edelbrock 600cfm carb and still pass smog? I know I would need to add the EGR adapter plate, but is this possible to make it pass smog or am I just wasting time and money? Should I keep it stock with the 2 barrel carb?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm new to broncos so any advice I would greatly appreciate!
Thanks,
Mike
Without knowing the inspection laws and how they're enforced but assuming they're particularly strict in CA, that is. Here in TX an '83 doesn't get the sniffer, just a safety inspection.
