2009 F350 Tailgate

Does anyone know where I can find one of these? Ive seen one on CL for 800. Little steep for me. I have a nice work truck that I bought but it has a 5th wheel tailgate on it now. Thanks for your help.

PS. I live in Allen Park but not afraid to travel for it. Got the truck from Atlanta last month

Congrats on the new to you truck! Those tailgates are going for top dollar. It's a common mod for older SDs who want to update the look. I've heard as much as $1800 for one. Don't know, but it probably had the step, maybe even the back up camera.

Check with Scrap Busters in Westland. Lost a tail gate to thieves on my last Super Duty, had the best prices at the time (back in 05), New vehicle take off, not a scratch on it. I know you can get first gen Super Duty tailgates new after market for cheap as well, but they are a bit "tinny" feeling.

ok, sweet. found a white one with a dent in it for 250. gonna check it out tomorrow. if not I will check scrap busters.

I don't really want/need to spend the money either but I need one before camping season. otherwise the tonneau cover I just bought (200) wont help much keepin things dry.

and yes, im cheap

FORDBLUE I will post craigslist link. if he doesn't sell it soon, you might be able to talk him down in a few weeks. F250 F350 Superduty Tailgate

CHAD I think there are modifications needed to put a first gen tailgate on my truck. I don't mind doing them, just lookin for most reasonable option now, whatever it may be

I think changes were made to the hinges in '08 to accommodate the spring assist function. For the new style gate on the old trucks you have to swap the hinges but only if you feel you want the assist function. I would think an old style gate should drop right on if logic serves me right. If not, these should be found usable in the boneyard as well.

I think it doesn't move? Chad probably knows, but it's past his bed time.

The handle on my tailgate pulls up even if it is locked but does not disengage if it is locked.

X2. Even if you need to fix anything, all the handle parts are reasonably priced.

the mechanism probably needs adjusted. on my last super duty i had to pull so hard on the lever i thought it was going to break. took apart the panel on the opposite side and adjusted it and it was good if i recall correctly.

are you looking for one with the step?

ok. thanks. I didn't have time to play with it today. I will try to mess with it by the weekend. Ford dealer said it was only 15$ to rekey the cylinder so im gonna bring it in once I open the back panel and take it off.

Bender, I am not lookin for one now. just got this one. but I did find a guy that is looking for a silver one with a ladder, when I was looking for this one. How much do you want for it? I will call him and give him the info.
