The passenger is locked up. Haven't taken it off and may be more to it but took some pliers to the thing to try and turn it an it's stuck, seems like a plastic piece of junk.

If Brent were here, he'd also suggest you remove the hub selector switch, drill a small hole in the face of the plastic housing and soak the hub in transmission fluid overnight to try and free the hub switch.
I have Warn hubs on my Ex, but I wish I knew about these tips and tricks before I bought the Warn hubs so I could have tried them first.
My auto hubs jammed up a few months ago. I tore them apart, cleaned them and re-greased everything. Still stuck.
Been like that ever since. Then 2 weeks ago I decided to drill a small hole in the dial and soak them in ATF. Problem solved. Now they are easy to turn and they actually lock AND unlock by themselves when switching for 2x4 to 4x4.
I'd do it if I was you. I understand wanting the reliability of manual hubs. But I didn't have the money for new ones right now and if I can keep my butt warm on the heated seat without having to get out to lock the hubs I'm happy
I like oem. My hard core off road days are over. I like the auto feature when I pull my boat off my ramp through the yard heading out to another lake. Convenient! Did just have to replace vacuum switch today but not bad for 150k miles.
Had Mm and they were not good. Never could get them to tighten up all the way
I've had the Mile Marker 449SS locking hubs for 4 years / 25k miles with no problem. They do sit loose, no bad effect.
If your OEM hubs won't free, then whichever manual conversion you do will have to include plugging the vacuum lines. I left everything in place (to keep the seal), traced the vacuum line to a convenient place up high & plugged it there. Easy peasy.
