Recently, when i turn my X completely off and remove the key, I hear something that sounds like it runs on and off. I popped the hood and it sounded like it was coming from the EVAP canister. It will engage several times, even while my vehicle is off. Im not sure if this problem is related but sometimes when I turn my key off and remove it, my air will still be running if the switch for the air isnt turned off. Could this be related and point to a bad ignition switch? Or is this a coincidence and my ignition switch is bad along with a whole other string of problems within my EVAP system? I cant find any information on google and its driving me nuts. Thanks guys, any and all help very much appreciated.
Now that you mention it, roughly 4 or 5 days ago the ABS light was on. After driving down the driveway it disappeared. I just moved here to New York from Georgia. Needless to say, my battery has had to be jumped off a couple of times. Yesterday, I replaced the battery and it fired right up. No engaging noises like before, however, the ABS light was on. I drove it down the driveway and it disappeared. This morning, I have not seen the light. The only other "odd" thing that was going on was when I turn off the key, my heat or fan is still blowing. I can turn the fan off and it still runs. I turn the key to "on" or "ACC" and the fan will turn off. A lot of things going and throwing me in different directions.
Frankly, it sounds more like water infiltration into the fuse box area.
This has happened to many, small windshield leak dripping into the wiring and causing all sorts of weird things. Give it a very thorough look under the dash.
When it warms up a bit, I'll try to make some glycerin water and check the windshield for peaks. I'll try and get out there today and check both fuse boxes for the water infiltration. I can't really go off of water in my carpet. Haha, my carpet is frozen from the snow on my boots. I'll try and get back on in a couple of days, I'm in the middle of in-processing at Fort Drum.
