My truck is making a squeaking noise when i press the gas i do not know what it is, but it is very annoying. It stops sometimes when i press the gas but it keeps going after a little while maybe while im in 3rd gear it will stop, I took of the belt to the smog pump as i thought that was the problem anyone have the same problem but solved? Maybe i can get it taken care of tom. morning. HELP!

Check the tension of the remaining belts. Look at the underside of the belts and see if they are badly glazed. Do not overtighten them.

Does it seem to squeak [squeal] more when the air is humid? Does it make this noise immediately after starting the engine and then stop?

 

I had a fan clutch fail and it locked up. Caused belt squeal around 2700 RPM+.

 

it only happens sometimes but yes squealing is a better word
