'69 block - 9.48"
Stock prepped crank - 3.5" stroke
Upgraded forged H beam rods - 5.956"
Keith Black Hyper Pistons @ 1.774" Compression Height - cut for Cleveland valve relief - 2cc volume.
9.48 - 5.956 - 1.75 (.5 x 3.5) = 1.774
I know I still have the thickness of the crushed head gasket. Next option is a high-dollar step-up to Diamond Racing pistons @ $700/set (yikes!)
I have access to E85 - never ran it, does it just require a good all-metal Holley carb. I know Ethenol is iffy if exposed to any system that may cause any type spark in the fuel delivery system.
Last concern... the Eddy E-Boss Clevor intake says a 9.5" deck height... will it still work on a 9.48" deck? Seems as long as the width is the same... it will work?
Blocks are not always perfect, and when prepping a block its usually machined 0.010 at the deck for perfect flatness. I havent messed with a boss so im not sure on the details...
Yea... may be pushing it with those pistons. Looking for a 9.5" block... may also look to down under for pistons... seems they cater more to cleveland style pistons lots more than US piston manuf w/o having to have a $700-$1000 set of pistons poured for a simple rebuild. Jus kicking around ideas.
