highboy PS using 78 Bronco box
Parts used:
1. Redhead 78 Bronco box reverse rotation (outside of frame mount)
2. Wild Horses 78 Bronco lower steering shaft
3. Wild Horses Saginaw Pump kit for a 351M
4. 1/2" Grade 8 bolts and hardware
5. 3/8" thick plate with 1-1/4dia. x 1/2" thick bosses welded to the plate for added support inside the frame (no welding on the frame)
6. Moog ES150 L& R ball joints for the drag link
7. Bulletproof steering tube for the adj drag link @ 9-1/8" long. My center to center drag link length came out to 12-3/4"
8. 78 Bronco PS return line from Bronco Graveyard.
9. 78 F250 4x4 pitman arm
I'm not going to do a step by step as it was VERY similar to the other installations except for one thing worth noting.
I milled the 4 index "keys" out of the pitman arm. The reason was so that I could index the arm 2 teeth (20 degrees) to the rear for tire/pitman arm clearance at full right lock. This is probably the one thing unique to using this box, and it worked great.
I hope this helps someone that decides to go this route.
