I don't think I would replace the pan unless it was really pitted badly, possibly to the point of leaking.I think I'd do a little scraping and use some product to neutralize the rust, then paint it. I don't know about recalls but Ford would probably come up with some idea that amateur radio rf energy had something to do with the problem, hi hi ! 73
