starting with bad ring gear

Im trying to decide after i rebuild the 6.9l idi top end can i pull start it? Or an i going to need to fix the ring gear before i can start it? I plan in pulling everything back out within a couple runs to put it in a 75 f350 that my grandfather bought new.

I know i need to bleed injectors but i could crack injectors and pull down the road, then stop and close injectors and then be pulled again

If the glow plugs work, you can pull start it. Putting an electric fuel pump on there might speed up the bleeding process as well.

The glow plugs are out of it, should it read no resistance? Or no continuity? I havent tested them yet but none of them were stuck in the heads, thankyou for the response
