So when I got my bump, it had a fuel cell in the bed of the truck. I have been looking for a better solution and found a guy with an in cab tank and filler neck he'd sell me for $25. I'm going to install it, but know I need to pick up the grommet that goes around the filler neck and the cab opening.
Since there's no opening there already in the side of the cab, I was wondering if anyone here can tell me what size hole I need to drill? Also, is there a specific location I should place it or does it matter as long as it's above the tank opening?
I've never seen a Bump that didn't have an in-cab tank from Ford. Bed mounted ones were extra. Someone in your truck's past must have done some body work to cover the hole you wish to put in there. I suggest reach up the inside of the cab corner and see if you can feel where that repair was done. I've never done it so I don't know if it is reachable.
BTW, in-cab tanks get in the way. You might do some research on the 22 gallon Mustang tank install on this forum. Use the search engine top of this page. It isn't as cheap and easy as adding the in-cab tank but I'd rather put some sound equipment back there if it were me. (And I did).

I had a 67 F-600 which is the same cab that had a saddle tank, but I can't remember if it had a hole for a seat tank or not.
the hole location is specific, if you want it to line up correctly.

1969/71: The optional factory installed in-cab storage compartment takes the place of the in-cab fuel tank, making the optional factory installed 25 gallon auxillary tank a mandatory order...for an obvious reason.

So ND Bill? Was the in cab tank fill hole a block off type plate or plug thing. I have seen this.
Or was it also possible to come with no hole or plate thing from Ford if no
in cab tank was used?

The cab's back panel came with the cab corners. Here is what Ford listed.
67/71...F100/750...DOTZ1040300A (Replaced by D2TZ1040300A)
1972....f100/750...D2TZ1040300A.....includes fuel tank mounting holes.

I got inside mine in the light today and saw where the hole was plugged, so I guess all I need to do is have the plug cut out. It appears that the back of my cab still has the bolt holes and clips to mount the tank, but I do not see anything on the floor to keep the bottom of the tank in place.
So I'm prepping to install my tank and seat. In looking at my tank, it appears that it does not have the evap system. Only openings is for the fuel line, filler neck and sending unit.
I suppose I need to pick up a vented fuel cap?
Also, the fuel line that came with my used tank doesn't have a pickup tube attached, nor can I tell that there's one in the tank. Am I missing something here? Pretty sure I need a new line anyway as the fitting doesn't fit my tank. Anyone have a part number or anything for the in cab line and pickup tube? I plan on essentially getting the tank in and connecting it to the rubber line already under the truck.
Do you plan on keeping and using the under bed tank as well? If so, you will also need the tank switch that sits on the floor at the drivers side to switch between tanks, also the electrical switch to switch between tank pickups, the electrical pigtail to connect the switch into the harness and hopefully the orange electrical wire is still in the rear of the drivers door jamb to connect the in cab sender.

I have only seen Bumps with the manual valve. I thought only the later Dents had the electric switching valve.
