I am in Squamish BC between Vancouver and Whistler. I can choose between Lordco and a private Napa dealer. Fortunately Bellingham is only a few hours away.

Stopped at the welding shop and got the broken bolts out if the collector. I left the manifold behind we are going to check it for warpage tomorrow. It looked ok for having one bolt missing for so long. The shop has a mill and could machine if needed.

I am planning on using a serenge to evacuate the hpop res. I don't want an even bigger mess when I pull the pump out. Do I need to take the fuel bowl out?

I fooled one guy all ready with my new fender! Wow that is a rare truck!

I will post a pic when I get it sorted.

I am waiting for parts and am going to cut the flanges tonight and tomorrow. I put the manifold on a belt sander to clean it up. It is not flat between all the ports 5 thousands out at most. Is this too much? Should I put a gasket in?

When I make the flanges I am concerned that there isn't enough of a flat spot on the collector to get a good seal. I think Bill cut a donut in half here. Is the gasket material enough? Does the flange seal around the perimeter? And if so do I need a copper washer under the flange bolts?

I started wiring the power mirrors I do not have a diagram so I am just trying to sort it out. As it currently is the joy stick controller seems like it has failed but I will proceed. The goal is to have the mirror controls be on the driver side door near the wing window along with the defrost switch.

The defrost switch may get moved to the blank panel near the wait to start light as I am thinking of putting a power rear slider in and it's switch will be there.

The hpop reservoir cap was stuck pretty darn good but I have freed it with out wrecking anything. What is the best way to drain the reservoir? I tried a syringe but broke it trying.

A pump like this is stoopid cheap; small hose just fits in the hole.

Well this has come up a few times. Looks like the wrong configuration but I am not the expert.

Pics are misleading. Does it come with the beer bottle, or without?

Yeah, intake and exhaust sides are reversed compared to ours.

I have removed the fuel bowl. I dread putting it back in. If I can find a superduty pump and some filter bases for durn cheap I will probly do the tight wad mod and get rid of it.

On to more pressing matters. I am trying to remove the nut on the hpop and am turning the engine over as I try. Is it standard thread or reverse? 3/4"? How do I stop the engine from turning.

Pics in a minute.

Hpop bolt is left to loosen. I'm surprised your turning the motor over with it. Is you truck a manual trans. If so put it in gear and block the tires

I put a pry bar under the breaker bar to keep the socket lined up and have it a few good wacks! It came loose. The new pump is in!

All this over a leaky up pipe!

Maybe i should put the new water pump w/coolant filter in

Keep it in gear and have someone stand hard on the brake pedal. Not a manual? Um....

When you're viewing the pic in the album, there are boxes below the pic. One is "BB Code". You put the cursor in there and make sure the whole thing, from the opening IMG tag to the closing /IMG tag, is highlighted. then right-click on it and pick "Copy" (or hit Ctrl-C). Then go back to your post, and in the editor window, right-click and pick "Paste" (or hit Ctrl-V). It puts the code for the pic in your post. You'll see it when you preview it. Here's what it looks like:

And the code for that pic is:
PHP Code:

It seems that the mobile version is not able to do it.

Back to the hpop. I am worried the gasket isn't Lined up. Should I position it with grease or just put it on the pump and slide the whole thing in. I currently have it all together loosely.
