New to the site and needed some help identifying tailgate trim and years the part actually fits and a fair price. Truck as I remember was a 1985 but this was years back and he didn't remember what year the truck was. The gate & trim was pulled off the truck after the gate was damaged and the trim has been hanging in my shop for 15 plus years. Condition is above average. I can gladly email pics to anyone that would please help me. Thanks in advance. Email address is partzpal@gmail.com

Reason: added email address
Why don't you post pictures here? Put 'em up on some hosting site (e.g. photobucket) and use the IMG code they provide to post the pictures inline in your posts.
Can even host 'em here on FTE if you upload 'em into an Album you create here.
I'm new and could locate a file attachment in the box where I wrote the ad up. I'll attempt to post the way you recommended but did just list the part on ebay.
I've got a 72 SWB truck that I'm restoring and that was my real reason for joining but apparently I'm not welcome with comments like yours. Glad I was waiting till pay day before I paid for a subscription as you just made that decision for me. Thanks in advance.

yeah well its not a good idea to join and instantly post on how to post something for sale or post the link to your eBay link, there is a reason there are post number specifications to sell stuff on here, because you need to contribute to the site, and not just join to sell stuff.
I'm not going to get into with you on "My Comments"
I'm a big contributor to the site, and this is the best ford truck site there is out there, so if you wanna leave, All i have to say is good luck, you will not find better or more consistent information out there elsewhere from guys who truly have a passion for these things
I do apologize. Apparently you play a very important role in policing new members on the site who don't abide by your rules. Furthermore, the only reason I linked the email auction, which I didn't have written up or posted until after posting on your site; was to give a fellow member a pic that he requested since I don't have a photobucket account. No worries and thanks for pointing out your posting rules and free education about selling on your site. Your site is just a little different than most since most welcome good used parts and typically help each other out during their restoration or on daily drivers. Thanks again.

Is this sarcastic? I honestly cant tell if you are being serious when saying sorry, or if you are being sarcastic. hard to tell tone over type
I am not policing anyone, just pointing something out,
Also, not MY rules, or MY site, it is the forums rules.
just making sure we are clear, I am not intending what I just typed to be in a harsh or attacking tone, but rather normal
There are issues when people only join or join to show they are selling something instantly, because no members know the trustworthiness of this member because you have no reputation as a fresh member. just a bad idea
My guess is you called him on joining to try to sell and he paniced. Either way it aint no big deal even if he was trying to do so. I dont see the need for the snotty "well i WAS gonna support the site but now you asked me a question i wont". Quite possible it could be a good thing and may avoid the dreaded *******ism some people reveal after a period of time.
Part if you read this , we welcome all here. Some need a bit of guidance or to be informed of proper conduct. Some, like me, are complete morons when they join and over time learn more from these guys than if i dismantled and rebuilt 50 of these trucks. If you choose to stay away you are missing a huge opportunity to learn and take part in a huge network of people. The kind of people who RESTORE these trucks and would PAY TOP DOLLAR for oe mint equipment and parts. Form them there is always another part out there. For you there is only one FTE that has these cats and their expertise.

I didnt think I was out of line
And I do agree with every part of your post.......
except you calling yourself a moron lol
I know that E7TZ & F2TZ have been reproduced by Carpenter and are pictured in his catalog. I don't have a current catalog, so don't know about the others.
No big green. I didnt think you were either. I wasnt trying to come down on or say much to you. Just sayin if he said yeah i joined to try to sell or no i joined for this but i got parts too it wouldnt have been a big deal.
It's not at all unusual to have newbies join just to post up stuff for sale, it's up to me to decide if I want to allow it to remain or not.
His attitude & demeanor & actions say his primary goal was to advertise his part, his eBay store (very similar username) has got a variety of things, it's obvious he's running a business and trying to advertise his wares here.
I left his ebay link for several days but have now deleted that post, he's gotten his exposure here and will likely never return.
Anybody who would pay ~$600 for a used trim panel is pretty desperate... MAYBE if it was NOS and had been in a cardboard box on a shelf for 30 years and I was interested in building a show truck then I might consider it if I was really hard up for such a thing, but it would need to be extreme circumstances....
BTW nobody here said anything wrong or bad or inappropriate to him, in fact it saved me from having to ask him so thank you.
