1973 crew

I have recently acquired a 1973 F-350 long bed crew from the orig owner and its 2wd of course. Plans for the truck are 12v Cummins nv4500 with a married NP241. My question is as i know this as been discussed, what are my options for a 4wd conversion.

Machine work welding and fab is all no problem.

I would want to run a dana 60 front with a 34" frame with what are my options, I am beginning to think that i will have to cut the c's and shift the center of the housing to get the correct width and offset.

I could find a donor and cut the front of the frame, but if i am going to have to build cross member to accommodate the 12v why not just weld in some spring mounts up front a build a shackle for the rear and run some late model leafs from a super duty.

I look forward to any input

Josh

That D60 isn't a problem at all. Almost bolt in. The stock 78-79 F350's were a bit wider on front also.

Check out the engine swap forum...plenty of info there.

Also....search 2wd to 4wd conversion and there are plenty who have done or are doing what you want to do.

Make sure to post some pics of your project and welcome aboard.
