Nice work, but why were you disappointed? These trucks are 50 years old and will have bondo, lots of people use it but hopefully it's at a minimum.

I don't know if it will make much difference, but it looks like you are a water drain hole short in the last photo. If I remember correctly there are 4 drain holes along the bottom on each door; can only see three.

Looks like you did well. Just a little info if you don't know, The body work you found was the "correct" way of doing things for a long time. Most shops thought that the ooze through the holes kept it held on. I have ran into that before and instantly thought a had bought a jerry rig and didn't know what else I would run into. But it's all good.

An area I think is subject to rust is the leading edge of the hood so I drilled relief holes thru the lip on the underside of the hood at points where water tended to collect.
