Trying to identify a transfer case
Recently I c̶r̶o̶s̶s̶e̶d̶ ̶o̶v̶e̶r̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶D̶a̶r̶k̶ ̶S̶i̶d̶e̶ bought a Dodge 3500 Cummins. Yes I know this is a Ford forum but I don't want to s̶e̶l̶l̶ ̶m̶y̶ ̶s̶o̶u̶l̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶D̶e̶v̶i̶l̶ join the Dodge forums just yet if the Ford guys can help. The problem is I bought this 1996 Ram 3500 Dually 4x4 Cummins w/auto trans knowing the transfer case was chain was bad. Because of that I only paid $2700 for a truck that I could with a little effort resell for 5 or 6 grand. But turns out Dodge wasn't very straightforward with the transfercases they put in the damn things. I can't identify the damn thing because the ID tag fell off. All I know for sure is it's a NP241. I am also pretty sure it is NOT a NP241 DHD because I do not have the PTO. But I could be wrong. So here are some pics, maybe someone can identify this damn thing before I go spending $900 on the wrong T-case.
