I grew up doing search and rescue in the Northwest and that's partly where I get those habits. I also had parents that were pretty self-sufficient.
I mean it is really good to be that prepared, I have been one that knew I needed to be ready for something to happen but don't always get motivated to get something together. (until something happens of course...lol)
Do you have a wrench that will fit your lug nuts? Usually aftermarket wheels with lugs don't seem to work with the factory tools.

That right there is actually a really good point!! I have sen some of the folding lug nut wrenches that would fit nicely under the rear seat that I may purchase. Not necessarily for the truck...but also for changing the boat trailer tire. (since I finally got around to buying a spare and mounting it!) I also use AAA when I need to...luckily I rarely have flats. (knock on wood)

in the winter i run stock wheels/lug nuts. in the summer i have the keyed socket for my summer lug nuts in the glove box and the stock lug wrench works on the socket amazingly
