fuel filter light flashing

Just did ip, injectors+install kit and went back to the original style fuel filter housing (had one off a 6.9 before) on my 1994 7.3 IDI turbo and now sometimes at idle the fuel filter light blinks on and off to the pulse of the fuel pump. you can bump up the engine speed slightly(900rpm) and the light will go out but when you let it idle again it starts up flashing again. The engine runs great and has plenty of power but is a little hard to start like its loosing fuel pressure. The only other things I have changed is the fuel heater and the fuel filter (wix) of course. The lift pump is about 8 months old and i blew out the fuel lines for good measure as well as checking the pickup in the tank with no improvement. Any advice on this one would be much appreciated! Thanks!

how tight is the filter? 2 micron may have to high of a CFFF to work in you application, 10 micron is factory wix napa gold, if you picked up some debris in your fuel. Some complaints have been heard about some of the (new pumps) not performing to motor craft standards, is your pump a motor craft part? the filter head you installed is a 7.3 filter head it will have a return line coming out of it, it is restricted by a orifice and a small plastic ball type check valve, this return line is to remove tiny air bubbles from slosh in the tank, and put them back down the return line system, and to cool the injectors along the way. the factory fuel pump should be able to pump 3 times what the engine can consume at full throttle, so must be a pump problem, or a air leak between pump and tank, or plugged filter. .o2
