Hey guys. I have a 96 f350 psd and im trying to install a new down pipe. I have been trying to bend the firewall to let it through but there is allmost no room.are there any tricks to this that I should use? Thanks.
There's more than one way to skin a cat, and as many ways to bend the firewall. What worked for me was a long prybar, and I used the corner of the engine block for leverage. Some guys have used a PortaPower.
Hang in there, it'll be worth it when you're done.
Did you cut the pinch welds on the firewall? After making the cuts I used a 6' piece of 1.5" rebar to fold the seam over.Use the back of the head as the fulcrum point for the bar.

I took a pry bar to her and it worked great. I was not expecting the increase in engine noise :O I guess that just goes with the larger pipe. Thanks for the help.
