I'm looking to get a 5in exhaust. V been told a 5in do would reduce HP and tq. Is this true. I'm aiming for 550-600 HP did/tow truck. I don't think it would matter on this truck. If I went to 5in turbo back. Would it lower turbo spool or is this guy full of it.
Well my tuner with mcc, will get Me around 550 depends how strong my cp4 is. I still debating on what turbo to go with. But ill be happy with anything over 500 on my stock system.. So you don't think i 5in vs 4in dp will matter?
After reading several debates regarding back pressure and flow issues , I still think 5" is the way to go. On a turbo motor the least amount of back pressure beyond the exhaust wheel of the turbo the better off you will be.
I.wasent sure about the 6.7s turbo. How they work.ill probably get 5in turbo back. I was going to get 5in dp back its a Lil cheaper. Gotta look for some prices now
So a DPF-back system seems to be an all-for-not kind of set up. Might be a bit noisier, but you're still fully-emissioned...and therefore restricted. Is there any benefit to a DPF back, because i'm not really seeing one.
I don't think anybody here is talking about a DPF back, maybe turbo back. Most of us will get rid of the rocket ship on the bottom and replace with the 5" straight pipe.

Thanks, just needed to confirm.
To that end, I already have the H&S, and even on a completely stock truck running in "stock" mode, it provides benefit. That being said, going to a Flo-Pro...is a big move.
The performance numbers are well documented, but is the truck just happier, have better MPG and easier to maintain? I'm trying to meassure the gain versus the pain (every few years dropping it).

5" DPF back is actually quieter. Some of us use this set up to get rid of the "400hp hair dryer sound". My particular set up is the AFE DPF back kit. It's nice.
