F150-
4.9L 300ci I6
5.0L 302ci V8
5.8L 351ci V8 (windsor)

F250-
4.9L 300ci I6
5.0L 302ci V8
5.8L 351ci V8 (windsor)
7.5L 460ci V8
6.9L Diesel (earlier)
7.3L Diesel (later)
7.3L Turbo Diesel (Powerstroke)

F350-
5.8L 351ci V8 (windsor)
7.5L 460ci V8
6.9L Diesel (earlier)
7.3L Diesel (later)
7.3L Turbo Diesel (Powerstroke)

That's the breakdown, to the best of my knowledge. The 302 might have been offered in the F350, but I'm not sure. Also, I'm not too familiar on the exact years on the diesels. You might try posting in the diesel section if that's what you're interested in.

Hope this helps,

Mike

So how does everybody feel about these motors? I have heard that the inline 6 is the most reliable, and I have a friend that swears buy it, but is it enough for your needs. I need it to pull heavy loads every now and then, but mostly I just use it to haul small stuff. Also I'm looking for something that will handle highway speeds without a problem.

TIA

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 01-Jun-02 AT 12:55 PM (EST)]For pulling heavy loads,I'd suggest going with a truck powered by a 7.3L Powerstroke diesel. If you like big-block gasoline engines, nothing known to man can out-pull a 460.The early 460s were fed by a 4 barrel carb, but in April of 1987, the 7.5L got EFI.The EFI460 is very powerful, and has somewhat better fuel economy than the 460 4-V versions. The '87 engine code for a 460 4-V is 'L',the code for mid-'87 through '97 EFI460s is 'G'.If better fuel economy is a concern, one of the diesel engines would be a better choice.
