Are you talking about the low or high pressure oil pump?

^ that and do you mean what would it cost for someone else to do it, or what would parts cost to do it yourself? I assume yourself since you ask about tools needed.

Honestly a simple socket set is all that would be needed to do the work, maybe a screw driver here and there.

Parts cost will greatly depend on the hpop or lpop, and what sort of injectors you go with (rebuilt, new, aftermarket).

The only non-standard (for some) tool you would need is a long neck T40 bit for the injector hold downs

I saw an AD on craigslist 2003 Ford F250 for sale for $2900 the seller says.
Needs the following:
-Oil Pump
-Two Injectors
-Oil Cooler

I just wanted to know what it would cost to do the job with new parts, before buying the truck.

Thanks

If its the high pressure oil pump..thats around $600, hopefully its that, pretty common with a 2003...low pressure, not entirely sure but i know its 1 or 200. Id be worried if it was the low pressure

Injectors are 220 each

Oil cooler kit is around 300

Also need intake manifold gaskets, hpop cover gaskets (not sure if it comes with hpop? if thats the case) and whatever else you run into. Could be a good deal depending on the trucks condition, and what the rest of the engine is like. How many miles?

I would be willing to bet if the guy only wants 2900 bucks it probably has more problems than he is letting on, more like needing the engine rebuilt and or bad transmission.

Nope. No electronics associated with the Cat.

Thanks i wanted to know if cleaning out the guts would result in lack of back pressure etc.

How do we find out if it is the High pressure or the low pressure defective.
