After 25 years.. It has been rescued!

Please give me your opinions on the truck, It has sat between two shops on a farm for 25 years. I know It's very rough, but I see it being fixable. I couldn't let it rot anymore. It will be a long road. I know the drive shaft is gone for some reason, and someone in the family thought it was funny to shoot the back window out..
Thanks guys!

Wow that is a bunch of patina....and a very long hard road to recovery.

Or are you going to put the d/s, some gas in it and take her for a spin?

Better air up a tire or 2 and put a p/s pump on it....

I think you have potential my friend...and yes a very long road ahead of you. I would pressure was it and get all the dirt and grim and as much surface rust I could off of it before I even would think about where to go first though. It has a lot of rust but from what I can see the frame looks ok. Would love to see your progress...what motor is in it? Looks like the original color was red? What year? Whats all the specs on this thing?

I am going to put new tires and get a driveshaft. It's a 1977 F150 Custom. The original color was silver, It has a 351V8 with 2WD.

Silver with Red interior? Do you know if that is original to the truck?

well, I would give her an oil change dump some gas in the carb and throw a battery in and see if it fires. If it runs I would make it safe for the road and drive it. For a restore, I would do drive train stuff fix any wiring issues and actually clear coat the body as is, well after a bath anyway. Everything looks to be surface rust. I like it.

Bravo sir! I think if I hit the lottery I'd like to rescue abandoned rigs like this and get them in working order. I love the idea of cleaning and clearing the outside.

Deffinately dig the patina. I would for sure clean and clear that body. And 100 points the rest.

The body looks pretty straight, rust free from what I can see. You've got your work cut out for you, but I say go for it!

And whatever you do... Don't paint it! The patina looks great,

Sam

Anything is possible with a lot of elbow grease and determination. Congratulations on your new ride.

Thanks to everyone for their input! Keep any ideas flowing, I like the patina, but I think I would like to re paint it. Gotta see if that engine will fire up. I'm looking forward to building this truck!
