Where do I start..
My 99 F450, did this at 225K miles.

The trans was rebuilt at 191K miles, I have the water pump, power steering pump, and lines. I bought it at 165K and have driven it for almost 3 years. Even when it had a broken valve this engine still had no blowby, it does need injectors as it won't hold over 2700ICP at WOT.
I am slowly pulling the motor, I have to wait till tax returns to have the money to rebuild it. (Time and money, I don't have much of either right now.)
I have to figure the higher rpms that the engine turns at highway speeds caused it to fail, the retainer came apart, letting the valve have some play and it broke the valve at the top and bottom of the valve stem, it doesn't look like it really damaged the head, and broken piece of valve missed the injector and the glow plug, and barely put a nick in the cylinder wall, I think a hone should take care of it. Once it is pulled I will have the bore measured, and make a decision of how to proceed.

On the 2000 X I have never been under the valve covers, I have replaced the up pipes, intake boots, alternator, and a power steering line. It has had the trans replaced once by a PO at some time, it was bought a year ago at 171K miles and has 183K now. Best purchase I have ever made. I can tell that it will need injectors in the next 20K miles though as it won't hold ICP at WOT either.

Up until 217k, nothing major at all. Had to make a drive to CT from TX, and had a fuel starvation problem pretty much all the way to CT, and ended up killing several injectors. Ran a compression test, and one cylinder was a little low. I made the decision to swap a late '99, 89,000 mile engine into the truck instead of replacing all the injectors and re-ringing the one cylinder.

I got a good price on the engine, so it made sense to do it that way. Well, as long as it runs when I finally get it in the engine bay, that is

How much did you give for the complete motor? I have seen a few on Craigslist out here and wondering what the going cost should be.

$1850 with turbocharger, accessory brackets, alternator, a/c compressor, p/s pump and clutch/pressure plate/flywheel that had been installed shortly before the interior of the cab went up in flames.

158,287miles, nothing major to report. Replaced glow plugs, GPR, Alts (twice), 3 front hub assemblies, Official Ford 50 cent mod, batteries and that’s it for big stuff. Everything else is regular maintenance type stuff.

Oh wow, your lucky, everyone out here thinks that their 300k plus worn out motor is worth 3grand. I would love to find a low mile motor like that for my truck, and then later when I had the money build this one.

213k on my speedo. No major repairs since I've owned it, but I've only driven it for 10k miles. It's 1 of 4 vehicles that I own and only use it for short trips and local hauling.

The only serious problem that I've had was a faulty DP piggyback which left me stranded w/fuel problems. over 100 miles from home w/a 4000 lb Lance camper in the bed. Fortunately, I had a AAA Premier membership and got a free flatbed tow back home. Had to deflate the tires and air bags in order to make it under overhanging wires and overpasses. Took it to a ind diesel shop the next day and they almost immediately identified the problem as the DP tuner. Removed it and it ran fine. Just got a SuperChips tuner to replace the DP tuner and it has the power back again.

Donn,
Did you see this truck at the Saturday auction? Only 47k miles...
Will your body swap over to this unit?

One that is a V 10, and 2 my insurance won't even touch a 550, since it is a personal vehicle. Thanks though.
